Columbia Road Flower Market
Famous for its
inexpensive flowers and plants which encourages bulk buying on a Sunday morning! Also surrounded by streets of
small independent shops and galleries as well as great cafes, pubs and restaurants. Specially atmospheric round
Christmas time shopping for decorations and
presents.
Brick Lane The best day to go is a
Sunday to absorb the chaotic and bustling atmosphere and to sample some of the delicious ethnic food on
offer.
Maltby Street Market
Not really a market but a collection of railway arches
where some wonderful food can be bought from places like the Ham and Cheese company, Fern Verrow and Jacobs
Ladder farm amongst others. St Johns Bakery is here also and sells its famous Eccles cakes and filled doughnuts
on Saturday mornings. This is our regular area to shop and we are always to be found there filling our baskets
on Saturday mornings.
Borough Market
This is Londons most famous food
market stuffed with all manner of growers and traders selling an enormous variety of foodie products. Essential
to get there early to avoid the crowds though and to beat the queue for a delicious grilled chorizo sandwich
from Brindisa.
